  1. What is a mandated reporter?

    A mandated reporter is a person who is required by law to report known or suspicion of abuse or neglect within the scope of their role/profession. Certain professionals who work with vulnerable populations are mandated reporters, such as teachers, therapists, social workers, and doctors.

  2. What is reportable?

    Any reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect is reportable, as well as disclosure of abuse or neglect. You do not need proof of maltreatment.

  4. Can I report anonymously?

    No, as a mandated reporter within the scope of your role as a CASA, you may not report anonymously. You are required to provide your name and contact information to child protective services. However, your information will be kept confidential and will not be disclosed to the person who reported the suspected child abuse or neglect.
