BE A VOICE FOR CHILDREN LIVING IN FOSTER CARE

Coastal Plain CASA supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for children and youth who have experienced abuse and neglect. We believe every child should be given the opportunity to thrive in a safe and caring home.

Here’s how you can help…

  • Advocate

Coastal Plain CASA provides court-appointed special advocates who stand up for children in foster care who have been abused and neglected. Advocacy is our priority!

  • Volunteer

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are volunteers who look out for the best interest of children who have experienced abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers help ensure children are placed in safe, loving, and permanent homes

  • Make a Donation

Research shows that having stable relationships with supportive adults improves the lives of children who’ve experienced trauma and hardships. With your help, we will be able to ensure that every child in DFCS custody in the Tift Judicial Circuit has a CASA Volunteer.

Summary of being a CASA Volunteer

We believe that every child who has experienced abuse or neglect deserves to have a dedicated advocate speaking up for their best interest in court, at school, and in our community.

To accomplish this, Coastal Plain CASA educates and empowers a group of dedicated community volunteers who ensure each child’s needs remain a priority in an over-burdened and complex child welfare system. When the state steps in to protect a child’s safety because the people responsible for protecting them have not, a judge appoints a trained and qualified CASA volunteer to make independent and informed recommendations that help the judge decide what’s best for the child.
